Pre Production!!

Home for 2 months!!
Whatsup Mo Fackas!? So I'm back for my third update on the tour life today!! Ok so maybe it's not the tour life today but it's PRE tour! Still away from home!! So these past few days have been ridiculous. We've been running practice runs of the shows and all I can say is I work with a bunch of goof balls. Though it has been work, it has been a blast. I love my new job. I can't wait to do it every night for the next 10 weeks!! But so on another note, I am sitting here watching the Epic Ink season Premier on A&E starring my friend Heather Maranda. Watching her do what she does best and knowing that she fucking kills it is is so cool!! Keep killing it man!
Mmmmmmm

So here I am talking to my fellow crew members about the band my family and my friends and my boy. I miss my boy so much. I can't wait to get back and hug him and get his goofy forehead kisses and for him to stand in my doorway waiting for me to hold his hand before he goes anywhere. His ice blue eyes that when he looks at you, it just causes you to melt. That big goofy smile he pretty much always wears. I love and miss ya buddy. I'll be home soon! And Shayne, my bestest fucking friend. Shayne has texted me every day making sure I'm having a great day. What a bad ass best friend. I can't wait to see you either man! September 14th bitch! And the band. Man what a family. Those guys are killing it. I want you guys to know that I'm working too man! Promoting the band doing everything I can to keep things rolling. Our Adventure has just begun.

In other news as of yesterday DeadPass...sss......sssssssss... IS OFFICIALLY BOOKED FOR THE DENVER DATE OF THE TOUR!!!! Fuck yeah!! The dream becomes more and more real every day!! September 14th at Castlemans in Denver, with a few other great bands! Tickets are 10 damned dollars!! Plus I'll be dropping the link where everyone can watch the broadcasts. every night if they'd like. But specifically so they can watch the show in Denver when DeadPass tears up the stage with Imprisonment(FT. Collins) and a few touring bands as well as some Denver locals. Did I mention that it's broadcast to  ~500,000 people. COONNNNTEEEEENNNNTTT!!!!!!

So anyways here I am, laying in bed not on my comfy as hell air mattress. Probably the first air mattress I've ever been on that didn't have to be aired up 2 times a night because it leaks somewhere. In fact not once since I've been here. It's been a killer week so far and time is just flying by. I can't wait to get on the road and to see the country. LA has been a awesome. Walking through walmart and there were more beautiful girls than I could count. <3 the beautiful girls. Ah jesus I almost forgot to post the pictures I have taken. I think we're gonna go to the beach sometime next week before we take off!? CAN'T WAIT. It has taken me 6 hours to write this because I've been side tracked and distracted and tired. It's not 1 am. Time for bed!

POST DOS!!!!!!

So here is my post number 2!!!! After minimal altercation at the DIA, I made it through security and spent about an hour killing time waiting for my flight! And I tried to think of something to bitch about with the flight and the airport and all this, but things went perfectly smooth, thus the bitching will no longer commence. Instead I applaud the people who were around for not bothering me and just letting me jam my headphones. Thank you co-flyers. :D ON ANOTHER NOTE WAS THE LAX. Yeah actually not that one went incredibly smooth too. It's awesome when you don't have to help take care of anyone but yourself. You just grab your bag and make your way to get picked up. Which it took some time to get picked up but understandably as it's L MOFACKING A. So all in all, it couldn't have gone any better except for free soda and shit on the plane. Oh wait.. Yeah it went well. ^_^

SO THEN!! I got picked up and we laughed our asses back to Jeff Tottens place, and I ate some sghetti and it WAS INCREDIBLE. Then IT WAS TIME TO WORK!!!! These guys and gals on the tour have made me feel very welcome and at home and I almost forgot I was in a Strange Land(SPONSER!!..) it's been incredible so far. I got some cool feedback from some fellow metalheads on the DeadPass video "Subliminal Straitjacket" where some good points were made on what we could have done better. Though there was a million things we could have done better, they were getting nit picky. Which I don't mind, always room for improvement right?!

Here's the video you tell me:

So last night I learned how to set up and breakdown this BAD ASS camera jib!
It's awesome! I also have been clearly the correct guy picked for this job because my ability to do whats needed on graphic design work we need has been a breeze. So today I spent a few hours learning how to be a camera guy and do some cool shots. SHITS HARDER THAN IT LOOKS!! Props to mah man Trevor Wroble "THE DESHLINATOR" cause he's a bad ass and I couldn't do the shit he does!! But all in all it's been a pretty non productive day. My job was to get up (WHENEVER I FELT LIKE IT BECAUSE THAT HOW MY JOB WORKS NOW :D) eat some breakfast, can you guess what I ate?? Drink some coffee, set up the jib and play with cameras and my laptop. It's been pretty lax. Here's a picture of me playing with the camera!! It was pretty cool, we taped a piece of paper to the wall and drew a smiley face on there, so we use that as out "Subjected Talent" HAHAHAHA!! And below that picture is a picture of the jib(Run by Shortbus) and myself. Today has been fun and it's about time to get back to work! Fuck yeah!

So yea that's been my day and my adventures thus far! If you can guess what I had for breakfast comment it and you'll get a cool prize!! (Might just be a high 5ive(Like the rapper but 4 less), but it'll be autographed ;) HAHAHAHAHA) It's only been 24 hours and I miss the fuck out of everyone already. I can't wait to see you in November, chances are I'll be a new man! Take it easy!!

With much Majestic, Angelically, Demonic Love

Whatsup everyone!! So many of you may or may not know me, I'm Colton Krohn, most of my friends call me Spud or some variation of the word, and a few other obscured nick names. I play guitar for an American Heavy Metal Band called DEADPASS, we have been doing a ton of cool stuff lately and if you are interested in checking us out I'll post links later. But I digress, I am 20 years old and I have been given an opportunity to travel the country as a Graphic Design Tech for a company called Project Independent. And though normally this blog would not be something I would do I was told by many good friends and family and quite a few supporters of mine that I should start a blog journal of my travels. And thus here we are.

So today is a huge day! Today my journey starts! I board my plane today in Denver today at 5:30 PM and land in LA around 7:00!! Today is the day I embark on an journey that not many people get to, and even fewer are offered. I feel blessed to be given this opportunity and I'm incredibly excited. LA HERE I COME!! THE REST OF THE COUNTRY IS NEXT!! I'm so very stoked to get the opportunity to work with so many bands who are fighting for their spot in the independent metal scene, which is so very hard to do, and as a fellow independent metal head I support them. This is my way of giving back to the metal community if you will.
(This is the flyer of every date, and here is a link to the page where you can find the venues and whatnot)

Now that is not the only thing that makes today in HUGE day! But Today is also my little brother Simon Durham's 15TH BIRTHDAY!! The biggest shout out to him. He is growing into an incredible young man, He has a huge pride in the things he does and that great because he's so very good at them. He's doing great in football and he has his own car to remodel. Keep you head up buddy because I promise you will go far. You are too talented not to. Just keep working hard at your dreams. Happy birthday buddy, I love you even if it doesn't seem like it some times. I can't to see you the end of this month.

So to cap this monumental day off, I'm have been in Denver since Monday evening because Tuesday and Wednesday were spent recording for the DeadPass Debut EP with the incredible Dave Otero who has been an inspiration for me for quite some time now. It was an honor to get to work with him and I'm honored to have him as a part of our cd. So guitars are officially finished with the exception of a few leads that Gene will be topping off in the next few weeks!!!!! These songs are going to be absolutely incredible. Today I board my plane and head off to LA to go hang out with some awesome people!!

And on that note! I'm off for the day! You guys rock and STAY METAL!!
LATERS!
